What qualifications do I need to become a hypnotherapist? 

There are no legal restrictions on who can practice hypnotherapy in the UK and no formal training of any kind is required for setting up in practice. There are many differing opinions about what is an acceptable standard for professional practice with some agreements between different "accrediting" bodies and many disagreements and no universally agreed standards for training and practice. There is a myriad of "qualifications" and "accreditations" available from a very large number of private organisations and businesses with official-sounding names. Our graduates can register with many of the registering bodies if they wish, though there is no formal requirement to do so. Success in establishing a private clinical practice depends greatly on acquiring competence as a practitioner and applying entrepreneurial skills with memberships of multiple registers and accrediting organisations usually having very little influence on level of success as a clinical hypnotherapist. HTI recommends that hypnotherapists seek membership of one or more professional bodies in the field but look only to those organisations who accept as accredited practitioners therapists who have received a minimum of 200 hours of classroom teaching (if trained an a face-to-face programme). Many training organisations offer Diploma or Certificate awards for much shorter training programmes and some accrediting organisations heavily promote these training organisations who are affiliated with them.

What training do I need to be a hypnotherapist? 

The main criteria for successful practice of hypnotherapy are a comprehensive training course with an experienced trainer with a solid clinical background in addition to acquiring a reasonable level of entrepreneurial skill.

How long does it take to train? 

Full competence in hypnotherapy cannot be gained from a training programme of 100 hours or less.  Many courses have classroom teaching of inadequate length and depth of training.  This regularly leads to student failure to develop as a therapist and failure to build a successful therapy practice.

Each student can complete the training program at their own pace, depending on their schedule and availability.  After completing the four courses, students are eligible to complete the examinations for the award of the full diploma certification.

What training do you offer? 

Our full Diploma training programme includes completion of additional training modules and passing some examinations.  We set a high standard for our Diploma level of training but it is not necessary to complete all of the modules to operate as a hypnotherapist.  Each course provides you with knowledge and skills sufficient to enable you to work on particular clinical issues and personal development goals in a safe, ethical and effective manner.

I have some concern, considering if it will be disadvantageous to attend ALL classes Online, compared with face-to-face contact class.  Can you please help me address this concern ?  Is it safe and effective to receive hypnotherapy online during practice?

We have found that with live interactive online training, students can learn hypnotherapy to a very high level of effectiveness.  Our online training program is fully designed to teach effective and safe practice to our students.  In our online live interactive sessions, students are supervised while practising techniques and we also provide additional one-on-one interactive time with each student, after the 6 days of the course, to supervise and tutor each student individually.

What certification can I get with HTI?  

We offer the Certificate of course completion from Hypnotherapy Training International (HTI) at the end of the Clinical Hypnotherapy course. You can practice hypnotherapy, legally and ethically, for a wide range of clinical problems on completion of this course.

HTI courses meet and exceed standards set by various accrediting bodies in the UK.

With HTI you can gain membership from UK, US and International organisations with standards among the highest in the field of hypnotherapy. Our graduates are eligible for membership of the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners (est. 1980), the British Society of Hypnotherapists (est. 1950) and many hypnotherapy registers in the UK. HTI is also the only Hypnotherapy school in the UK approved by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, a long-established organization with an international membership and having standards among the very highest in the field worldwide.

Is HTI certification recognized outside the UK?

Yes, our program has trained many students outside the UK and these students practise with the benefits of HTI certifications and diploma, which have standards among the highest in the field internationally. The HTI training program is also approved by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, which is well recognised internationally, so that by training with HTI our graduates can be seen as better trained professionals in other countries. There are some countries where Hypnotherapy practice is limited to doctors of medicine, dentistry and psychology, however these countries are relatively few in number, and even in some of these jurisdictions, hypnotherapists frequently can practice many techniques such as relaxation, affirmation programming, visualisation, etc which are commonly used in hypnotherapy and can, in the hands of a competent practitioner, be very beneficial to clients with a wide range of clinical problems.

Is there a bundling package discount for registering 2 classes or more?

Due to the challenging job-situation during the unusual epidemic times, we are offering a longer EARLY BIRD discount on any of our 4 long courses. We also offer a 10% discount for registering for 2 or 3 courses together, and there is a 15% discount for registering for all four courses together.

During the course day, is it full-day online  connection course, or will part of daily time be allocated be for daily off-line self-study?

Before each day, online materials are made available for you to study, which you can access to study both on that day, and/or at another time that suits your schedule.  The live interactive session of 4 hours, is the only part that you need to be available for on that day.
